Backyard Friday Games in Mr. LeBrun's 5th grade P.E.

It's always a good day when you get the opportunity to learn something new!
We had 2 awesome speakers today, Mr. LeRoy Stockton & State Game Warden, Ethan Angel.
Mr. Stockton talked to our students about Arkansas Wildlife, hunting, and tracking. He also brought his dog to show students how tracking works.
Mr. Angel spoke to students about his career and opportunities with the Arkansas Game and Fish. 🦌 🎣

An amazing day at LMS!

It may not appear to be anything special, but this picture actually shows 6th graders taking a brave step toward growth. We are currently focusing on a learning mindset of “Seeking Challenges”— actively searching for something that gets you to step outside your comfort zone, because that’s when and where we grow. Students were surprised and relieved when I told them they could use their study guides (the blue papers) for their first vocab assessment. However, if you look closely, you’ll see the study guides are turned face down. That’s because I asked them to challenge themselves by only referring to their study guides if they got really stuck or to check themselves after they were finished. They took on the challenge and ended up doing a fantastic job!

It was a beautiful day at LMS! 🤍
