Library Media Center

LMS Library Media Center

The LMS Library Media Center is located between the 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade hallways of the Lavaca Middle School building. A collection of books, periodicals, and media materials are constantly being selected to meet the curricular needs and interests of our students and faculty. A majority of the books contain documentation of the Lexile level (Lexile Info). A large portion of the books contain documentation of the Accelerated Reader levels and corresponding quizzes. All grade levels in the middle school incorporate Accelerated Reader.

The center is fully automated with 24 computers available for student use. These computers have access to an electronic card catalog (OPAC) which helps patrons identify and locate resources. These computers also have access to the Internet and other electronic resources (OPAC LINKS). For additional information or assistance, contact Joanna Bartlett, Library Media Specialist (
